Change the Search Provider

Currently, FireStart only supports one search provider at a time and there is no way to map users from one search provider to another. If you change the authentication method and the search provider on a running system, all user references become unresolved.

References to the following items are resolved to unknown users:

• User Permissions
• Model Owner / Model Responsible / Workflow Responsible
• WF User in Charge
• User Extension Fields
• Role Memberships
• Task Assignments
• Substitutions

Solution:

You need to change the FirestartIdentity objects in the database to link correctly (Provider and ExternalIdentifier) to the new authentication system. Alternatively, you can change all references to the FirestartIdentity to new objects.
