  • Memory: Minimum 8GB RAM
  • Processorx64-Processor, Quad-Core (2.0 GHz) recommended / minimum Dual-Core (2.4 GHz)
  • Storage: ~1 GB available hard drive space

Note: Depending on the use case and the required performance, the hardware requirements can be higher.
  • SQL-Server:
    • Microsoft SQL Server 2016 SP3 or higher recommended / minimum SQL Server 2016 SP3 Express Edition (limitations of the Express Edition will result in a loss of performance)
    • Enabled FileStream

Note: Regular database backups are the customers' responsibility.
    • Recommended: Microsoft SQL Management Studio
  • Server Certificate (3 options):
    • Own certificate via PKI
    • Public certificate via Let's Encrypt
    • Self-signed certificate, which needs to be rolled out on the clients

Note: The certificate must have a minimum key length of 2048 bytes.
  • Software:
    • .NET Framework 4.8
    • Internet Information Services 8.0 or higher (with installed ASP.NET) to host the FireStart Process Portal
    • .NET Core Hosting Bundle 7
    • ASP.NET:

      ISAPI Extensions
      ISAPI Filters
  • User accounts:
    • A global Security Group "FSadmins" with at least one user (e.g. "FSadmin") as member. Users in this group can administrate the system and automatically have full permissions on all scopes and models on the system.
    • One user "PFSservice" as FireStart service user. This user must be a member of the local administrator's group.
    • A user with a mailbox on the configured mail provider for FireStart to send task mails and notifications.

Note: The names of the system accounts and groups are adaptable, the number of required system accounts and groups are not modifiable.
  • Firewall:
    • The server must be reachable from all required clients via an adjustable port (Default = 443).
    • Calls to the FireStart web service (especially in workflow scenarios) also use the port configured above. The FireStart Process Portal can, but doesn’t have to be, hosted on the same port as the FireStart server.
    • If the SQL Server and the FireStart server are hosted on different hosts and there is a firewall in between, the TCP ports 139 and 445 must be opened for the FileStream feature.
