Validate and Deploy the Workflow

Before you start your workflow, you can run a test to measure its validity. To do this, switch to the workflow tab and click on the Validate menu item. A dialog opens, where you can see any errors in your process model. Of course, to start a workflow, your process should have no errors.

Once you have validated your process you can deploy it. Go to the Publish tab and click Deploy Process in the Process section.

Only after deploying a process, it can be started as a workflow. There are different ways to start a workflow. Most of the time a workflow will be started manually or triggered over a business entity, or with a timer event. In this tutorial, since we configured the start event with a business entity for our SharePoint list, our workflow will be triggered by a new entry in the SharePoint list.
