What is FireStart Cloud?

FireStart Cloud is an easy-to-use process modeling, orchestration, and automation tool. It can improve your organizational performance and business results by empowering your teams and technology to perform as one™.

FireStart Cloud does this in 3 steps:

1. Create

Create your processes in the process modeler. Processes are the foundation for all your future workflows.

When creating a process, consider:

  • What steps are required?

  • In which order do you need the steps?

  • Who does which step?

  • What data is passed around, and how does it relate?

Model Your Processes

Business process models consist of three types of elements:

  • Events

  • Tasks

  • Gateways

Directional paths connect these elements from the beginning of the process to the end. As you can see below, the different elements indicate the stages of the process, including who should do which task.

Events

Events are represented as circles. The thin-lined circle represents the start of the process, while the bold lined circle represents the end of the process.

Tasks

Tasks are actions that are done step-by-step to achieve the process goals. Tasks are used when you have manual work, decisions, or approvals in your process.

Tasks allow you to build a form that will be presented to your user and will help them achieve the goal at hand. Tasks are assigned to a role and can be claimed by users that belong to that role. To complete a task, a form needs to be filled out and submitted.

Gateways

Gateways are points where you decide how your process should proceed.

2. Orchestrate

By creating a process model, you have created a blueprint for FireStart Cloud to orchestrate the execution of your process, which is what FireStart Cloud calls a workflow.

A workflow is a directional process execution. It flows from left to right, executing one or multiple paths simultaneously, depending on the process model. A workflow is activated when you have built your process from start to end.

You can run as many workflows as you need to. To start a workflow, select a process from the processes list on the left and click Run Workflow on the top right.

To track the progress of your workflow, open the Workflows view and select the process you want to check. The blue line indicates which steps the workflow has completed so far.

3. Automate

Automation involves substituting manual tasks with automatic actions. FireStart Cloud provides flexibility to connect to any system via REST API and comes with pre-configured integrations with many apps you already use like Confluence, Slack, MS Teams, and many more.
